  Given L.H.S

    =  (1 + tan²A) / (1+cot²A)

  We know  sec²A - tan²A  =  1

  so sec²A  =  1 + tan²A

  Similarly  cosec²A - cot²A  =  1

  cosec²A  =  1 + cot²A

   

  Now replace 1 + tan²A with  sec²A and  1+cot²A with cosec²A

    =  sec²A / cosec²A

    =  (1/cos²A) / (1/sin²A)

    =  sin²A/cos²A

    =  tan²A

  (1 + tan²A) / (1+cot²A)=tan²A
